The criteria for The Grant Fund is physically disabled residents of Edinburgh and the Lothians. Applications are considered where ever possible within 4 weeks and consideration is given to anything not provided by statutory sources. Applications can be fast tracked if the person is in receipt of Income Support or Pension Credit and Disability Living Allowance (DLA) care and/or mobility components. Where ever possible Ecas purchases goods & holidays direct from the supplier. The maximum grant considered is normally £500, although consideration will be given to larger grants in some exceptional circumstances. Grants for specialised equipment will be considered, provided the equipment is not available through statutory sources and that an assessment has been carried out. Consideration will also be given to applications requesting funding towards holidays, kitchen white goods (washing machine etc) computer equipment, beds.
