The criteria for The Access Fund is
physically disabled residents of Edinburgh and the
Lothians. Applications are considered every 6–8
weeks and consideration is given to anything not
provided by statutory sources. Straightforward cases may
be actioned out of committee and may thus be actioned
much more quickly. The maximum grant considered is
normally £500, although consideration will be given to larger grants in some
exceptional circumstances. Grants for specialised equipment will be considered, provided the equipment is not available through statutory sources and that an assessment has been carried out. Consideration will also be given to applications requesting funding towards
holidays, kitchen whites (washing machine etc) computer equipment, beds.
