Befriending Volunteers

Ecas Befriending Project.ecas_a4_befriender_fin

Have fun, meet new people and make a real difference by becoming a volunteer Befriender for a physically disabled person.

If you have 1 or 2 hours a week to spare to volunteer then you could help change someone’s life. To apply to become a Befriender download an application form here.

CURRENT VACANCIES

As well as general befriending, Ecas are currently developing 2 innovative befriending sub-schemes. We need your help!

Lunch Buddies

Ecas are currently recruiting lunch buddies to visit with a disabled person during yours and their lunch hour once a week. They will have their own meal provided and you take your own lunch, provide company and have a chat.

Ecas will provide training & support and if needed transport costs.

Facilitated Friendships

A 'facilitated friendship' involves 2 disabled people, possibly already known to each other, being supported to maintain (or begin a new friendship) as they have lost touch through housing or mobility issues. If you know someone in this position who would benefit from this kind of support then please get in touch!

Application forms can be downloaded or by contacting the project manager by phone, post or email:
