Ecas undertakes research and campaigning work in a number policy areas, improving the lives of disabled people:

• Ecas is currently benefiting from the skills and commitment of two research interns, Victor is undertaking a project on disability discrimination law and Tirion is undertaking a project on grant-giving and independent living.

• Ecas is campaigning for improvements to the disability equality duty, with which public authorities must comply. We recently submitted written evidence on this topic to the Work and Pensions Committee's inquiry into the Government's proposals for a new Equality Bill.
  

• We have deep concerns about the Welfare Reform Bill, some of which are raised in our response to the consultation paper 'No one written off: reforming welfare to reward responsibility'.
