Befriender Volunteers

Befriending Opportunities

Ecas Befriending Project is looking for responsible, genuine people to volunteer as befrienders who would be trained and supported in their role to visit with a physically disabled adult in Edinburgh, on a one to one basis.

Befriending is a highly rewarding volunteering experience and if you are interested and want to know more I would be happy to have an informal chat with you about what 'Befriending' is and why it is so important.

CURRENT VACANCIES

Ecas are currently piloting 2 innovative schemes and are looking for people to become involved.

Shopping

Currently there are many physically disabled adults in Edinburgh who need assistance to do simple tasks like visit their local shops to buy a birthday gift or card. This is where you can help.

Can you give 2hrs of your time each week to take a physically disabled adult personal shopping?

Ecas will provide training & support and if needed transport costs.

Lunches

We are also piloting a scheme whereby someone provides companionship for a physically disabled adult by sharing their lunch hour with an isolated person. Ecas will provide training and support.

For further information on either volunteering opportunity please contact Ecas on 0131 475 2344 or email This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it
