Ally Irvine joined Ecas as Befriending Manager in July 2014. In July 2016, Ally was appointed Chief Executive, a role he combines with his existing responsibility as Befriending Manager. Ally’s work at Ecas is centered around improving the lives of people with a physical disability, something he feels very passionate about.
In February 2016 he joined the board of directors of Befriending Networks, a national organisation which provides support, training and guidance to hundreds of befriending projects.
Previously, Ally worked for a youth charity called Young Enterprise and is moving towards his 10th year working within the 3rd sector. Ally has also spent time working for a housing association supporting vulnerable adults with learning disabilities in the community.
He enjoys going to see live music and listening to his eclectic music collection. His other interests include visiting art exhibitions, reading (autobiographies and thrillers), going to the cinema and cooking.
